Gold Forever
Chapter 26: What the fuck are you wearing?
Louis’ POV
“Thanks mum that was so good.” I said, pushing in my chair and bringing my plate to the sink. After my heart to heart with Lydia yesterday I decided to spend the day with my family. Now that dinner was over I assumed the twins would be in bed soon and I was hoping I could hop over to Lydia’s for a movie.
“No problem babe,”
“Look I think I’m gonna head over to the Miller’s”
“Okay bring your key because I should be turning in soon.” She said. I hummed a response and grabbed my phone and my key before making my way into Lydia’s backyard. Its an understatement to say I was surprised by what I saw.
“Lydia what the fuck are you doing?!” I hissed into the night, you could see my breath. Lydia, who had been slowly descending the tree house ladder whipped her head around to see me.
“Louis?!” She asked, startled before falling the remaining four feet to the ground.
“Shit” I cursed under my breath before sprinting over and helping her up.
“Louis what the hell are you doing out here?” She asked
“I should be asking you the same question.”
“I asked first.” She sneered.
“I thought it was painfully obvious I was going to yours.” I pointed out. I couldn’t be sure with the lack of light, the fact that her mouth was partially open, and the temperature but I think Lydia blushed at this. I took the opportunity to take in her entire appearance. That’s how I knew she was not on her way to my house.
“LYDIA WHAT THE FUCK ARE YOU WEARING?”
“Will you shut your mouth my mom will hear!” She hissed at me.
“Not if you don’t tell me why your out- without a jacket – in a —this!” I gestured towards her outfit. She straightened up a bit in defense.
“I’m going out.” She stated obtusely.
“Like hell you are.” I spat grabbing her arm. I couldn’t help but wonder if this was a dream. I’ve never seen Lyd looking skanky and now what? Sneaking out late behind her moms back?
“I am.” She yanked her arm away. “I don’t have time for this right now Louis, they’re waiting. You’re not my father. Just be my best friend and cover for me or something okay? I’ll text you or something.” She waved her phone at me before trying to dash away.
“Lydia where are you going?” I whispered seriously.
“I’ll explain tomorrow.” And then she was gone.
Lyd’s POV
(Weeks earlier- A couple days after Lydia left London and Louis went to Harry’s house. Two days after Janice invited her to sleep over and she told herself to ‘get a life’.)
“Its October 3rd.” Katy told Aaron in a hushed voice.
“GOD AARON SHOULDN’T YOU KNOW THAT ALREADY?” I yelled at the screen mean girls was playing on while shoving a spoon full of chocolate ice cream into my mouth. This had been me since I told Janice I couldn’t go to the sleepover. Party. I must really look like hell right now. My baggy sweater is almost completely off my left shoulder and I’m 76 percent sure I’m positioned so you can see a strip of my granny panties under my ugly ass Sofie shorts. Holla at me boys. My phone is currently lighting up with all the messages I’m receiving. If only they could see me now, I thought. Hating myself for it, I turned my head away from the movie for a moment to peek at myself in the mirror. I look like a fucking zombie. Mascara and shit all over my face. Urgh whatever. Oh did I forget to mention its nine in the morning.
“Lydia Miller what on earth is wrong with you?! I can hear you screeching from my bedroom! You are not eating that stuff in the morning young lady.” She said sternly, snatching the ice cream out of my hand causing me to look dumb with an empty spoon stuck in my mouth. “Now, I just got off the phone with Marie” Eleanor’s Mom. “Whats this about a sleepover you passed up on?”
“Eleanor’s mother snitched on me?” I asked almost comically.
“Don’t be childish she just said that El missed you there and I was curious why I heard nothing of it.” I only shrugged the issue seemed minimal to me. “Aww has my poor baby finally realized she’s in love with Louis Tomlinson and is sinking into a depression.” I groaned in anger.
“Mom this is how normal teenagers act you’re lucky I have a best friend like Louis so I don’t always act like this.” I rolled my eyes. Not the brightest thing anyones ever done. The TV screen went black as my mom ripped each plug out of the outlet.
“Mum!!”
“Go out with your friends today your gonna have school soon and you don’t want to seem like an unsocial person. Go out have fun.” My Mom looked at me lovingly before leaving the room. Little did she know she just gave me the worst advice possible.
